OUR HISTORY
ISD was founded in 1989 and has provided design services to clients for a broad range of projects in urban, suburban, and rural settings. The majority of our projects are within the urban areas of the Puget Sound region. We are also consultants to projects in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, and Hawaii in addition to Canada, Australia, Mexico, and Southeast Asia. We have grown primarily by direct referral from clients who we have provided consistently excellent professional services.

PHILOSOPHY
Our goal is to work collaboratively to create successful projects for our clients. We believe that establishing and responding to well defined project goals, municipal requirements, and contextual site influences leads to successful landscape design.

EXPERTISE
ISD has a very talented staff with extensive creative and technical experience with a wide range of landscape elements. Computer Aided Design (CADD) and other specialized computer programs enable us to efficiently and collaboratively work with other professionals and clients. Besides landscape design, we offer services such as Master Planning, Feasibility Studies, Cost Estimating, Permit Expediting, Bid and Construction Administration, and post construction monitoring.

RELEVANT PROJECTS
We have extensive experience with residential, commercial, and public works projects. Residential projects include estate, single family, cluster housing, and urban infill housing.
Each project reflects the needs and desires of our clients from luxurious to design simplicity, each with its own signature character.
Commercial projects include mid rise mixed-use housing over retail, and high end retail facilities. We are recognized in our profession as having considerable design expertise with roof and terrace garden elements, thoughtful design of common spaces, and sophisticated streetscapes that support the desired building presentation.
Typical Public Works projects include municipal facilities, sports facilities, parks, trails, environmental restorations, and urban walkways. Often these projects include design of plantings, hardscape, lighting, irrigation, site features, and art installations befitting public spaces.
